While I do agree that we need more open source and on premise software, people vote with their wallets (and attention). The cloud just makes it much easier for a lot of people to deploy apps and, most importantly, integrate with other apps.
There are now platforms where you can launch a fully functional AI app in 5 minutes. Obviously this has a lot of value.
